For over a century, Olivieri 1882 has been a symbol of quality, tradition, and innovation in the world of pastry and baked goods. Rooted in the small town of Arzignano, Italy, this family-owned business has not only stood the test of time but has also flourished, becoming a renowned brand both within Italy and across the globe. Let's delve into the fascinating journey of Olivieri 1882, a brand that continues to create emotions to taste.

Yesterday: A Legacy Begins

Olivieri 1882's story began in 1882 when Luigi Olivieri, an ancestor of the family, established the first Olivieri oven in Arzignano in Northen Italy, near Vicenza. As years passed, the family faced challenges, with some members emigrating and others staying behind to keep the business alive during the tumultuous era of the Great War. In 1927, Bianco Olivieri, Oliviero's father, took the helm, expanding the business by opening his own bakery and establishing a larger laboratory.

Evolution and Expansion

In the 1970s, the family's matriarch, Miranda, ventured into crafting the first baked desserts. These creations, known as "Ciambelle di nonna Miranda," began to gain popularity and were sold in local grocery stores. In 1980, a pivotal moment in the brand's history arrived when Oliviero, together with his wife Patrizia, decided to take over the family business. They revitalized the workshop with state-of-the-art machinery, all while preserving a strong connection to the family's heritage. Notably, "Nonna Miranda's Ciambelline" continued to be a beloved product among their offerings.

A Modern Pastry Paradigm

Fast forward to 2000 when Oliviero introduced the concept of "Caffatteria" to the brand. This marked a significant turning point, as Olivieri became the go-to place for locals to start their mornings, indulging in artisan products and savoring exceptional coffee. This fusion of tradition and modernity set the stage for the brand's growth and transformation.

Today: Continuing the Legacy

In 2006, Nicola Olivieri, the eldest son of Oliviero and Patrizia, joined the family business after gaining invaluable experience abroad. His entry into the company was a testament to the enduring legacy and commitment to excellence. In 2009, the brand took on a new identity with the birth of Olivieri 1882, encapsulating over 120 years of Olivieri family expertise.

In the subsequent years, the company flourished. The Arzignano store was expanded, providing a spacious 1,200 square meters of space, including a state-of-the-art laboratory. Andrea Olivieri and his wife Francesca, along with Michela, the wife of Nicola, played essential roles in this endeavor.

Culinary Excellence and Recognition

Olivieri 1882 has consistently gained recognition and accolades for its exceptional products. The brand's breakfast offerings were recognized by Gambero Rosso as among the best in Italy. Additionally, their leavened creations, including Panettone, Pandoro, and Colomba, have topped various rankings and received numerous awards. In 2019, they were honored with the title of "Best Colomba d'Italia," followed by two cakes on the Pastry and Tre Pani Guide in 2020. The crowning achievement came in 2020 when Olivieri 1882 received international acclaim at the Great Taste Awards.

Olivieri 1882 is not just a brand; it's a legacy that continues to thrive, balancing tradition with innovation and consistently delivering culinary delights that have captured the hearts and palates of customers both near and far. With a dedication to quality and a rich heritage spanning over a century, Olivieri 1882 remains a beacon of excellence in the world of artisanal pastries and baked goods.
