On October 16th, the highly anticipated 34th edition of the Guide to Italian Restaurants 2024 was unveiled at the Teatro Quirino in Rome. This comprehensive guide features 2,485 establishments from across the country, including 324 exciting new entries – many of them highlighting dynamic southern cuisines. It evaluates and ranks traditional restaurants, trattorias, wine bars and ethnic venues using forks, shrimp, bottles, and globes respectively. Sustainability remains a key focus, and this year Lombardy, Piedmont, and Puglia shine as centers of culinary excellence.
Lombardy takes the lead
Northern Italy takes the spotlight in the 2024 Gambero Rosso guide, with Lombardy boasting a remarkable nine restaurants awarded the coveted Three Forks. Among these, Da Vittorio in Bergamo and Cracco in Galleria in Milan stand out with impressive scores of 93 points. Other notable establishments in Lombardy include D'O, Seta, Lido 84, Dal Pescatore, Enrico Bartolini Mudec, Andrea Berton, and Miramonti L'Altro.
